Position Summary
The firm is seeking a Debt Solutions Manager (DSM) to support the Trustee/leader of the Asian Practice. This individual should be proactive and passionate about their contribution to the firm. The individual must be fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin verbally (written fluency would be a strong asset) and fully fluent in English.
Major Responsibilities
• Meeting with debtors and corresponding with them over the phone
• Providing excellent service to debtors who are overwhelmed with their debts
• Preparing documentation for filing and/or associated correspondence
• Obtaining all proper supporting information and documentation to ensure a proper, efficient administration of the file (including, but not limited to income and other tax
filings, asset realizations)
• Responding in a timely manner to ongoing queries and requests from creditors and debtors
• Liaising with the administration team, including, but not limited to, assisting with obtaining information, documentation and following up on complex issues where input and interpretation are requested
• Other duties as may be required
Education
• High School Diploma
• Post-secondary College or University education, with strong emphasis on business is preferred
• Registration in the CAIRP program is considered an asset
Qualifications/Experience
• 5 years of related office experience in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Excellent verbal proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese (written proficiency would be an asset)
• Fluency in written and verbal English
• Prior demonstrated customer service experience
• Ability to demonstrate maturity and responsibility, as dealing with sensitive situations and information
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and multi task effectively
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients, staff and other third parties
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), with the ability to learn other software quickly where required, such as Ascend
• Prior experience in the Insolvency industry would be considered an asset
